Sound healing, also known as sound therapy or vibrational healing, is an ancient wellness practice that uses sounds, frequencies, and vibrations from specific instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, therapeutic tuning forks, and the voice to promote deep relaxation and soothe the nervous system. In Switzerland, many practitioners offer sound healing sessions in Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich, Bern, Basel, and Fribourg, both as individual consultations and collective sound baths. This approach is suited for people seeking a non-tactile method to reduce stress, improve sleep quality, calm anxiety, or simply experience an immersive meditative experience. Sound vibrations are perceived by the entire body and can induce altered states of consciousness conducive to deep relaxation. Sound healing is particularly appreciated by touch-sensitive individuals who prefer an approach without physical contact. Some practitioners hold complementary ASCA or RME certifications, which may allow partial reimbursement. Increasingly popular, collective sound baths offer a unique group renewal experience.

Sound healing is a wellness approach that uses sounds and vibrations to induce relaxation and inner calm. Instruments such as Tibetan bowls, gongs, tuning forks, or the voice produce frequencies that resonate with the body and promote a state of deep relaxation, without any bodily manipulation.
The session begins with a conversation to understand your needs and sound sensitivity. You are then comfortably positioned, usually lying down with blanket and pillow. The practitioner plays instruments around you or near your body. The session lasts 45 to 75 minutes in a state of active, relaxed listening.
People consult for deep relaxation, stress and anxiety reduction, improved sleep, recentring and mental calming, release of emotional and physical tensions, and experiencing meditative states without concentration effort.
The main instruments are Tibetan singing bowls (metal or crystal), gongs of different sizes, therapeutic tuning forks calibrated to specific frequencies, chimes, shamanic drums, and the voice (overtone singing, mantras). Each instrument has unique sonic properties.
